RECYCLING IN THE HOME

Recycling
Recycling can take many different forms, at its simpliest some companies accept their bottles to be re-used. This is an ideal solution as no energy is used dismantling and reforming products. Unfortunatley in the UK the number of companies offering this is limited. Looking to other countries for ideas, such as Sweden, supermarkets have the facilities to receive plastic bottle and give a small fanacial insentive for your trouble. At present the UK has not explored this kind of scheme, which potentially could increase the amount of refuse being recycling.
Council sponsored recycling schemes in the UK are now widespread, in response to government targets for the percentage of waste that must be recycled by each borough. The schemes vary from councils, but most now collect part of their weekly refuse at least cans, glass and paper, with some including plastics. There is no excuse not to recycle! As recycling banks can also be found throughout towns and villages.
To recycle other unwanted goods there are a variety of options, from auction web sites to community recycling networks, adverts in local papers and donating to charity shops.
